Tehran exhibits Imam Khomeini’s photos

The exhibition titled Heavenly Tears, has been held to commemorate the anniversary of the late leader of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini’s passing away on June 3, 1989.

The event showcases about 44 photos selected from the personal collections of Amir-Ali Javadian, Mahmoud Abdolhosseini, Alireza Karimi Saremi, Hossein Heydari, Mahmoud Badrfar and Yousef Gerami. The photos are put on display for the first time.

Organized by Iran’s Visual Arts Center, the exhibition kicked off on June 1 and will run until June 9, 2012.

Every year, millions of Iranians from across the country travel to the south of the Iranian capital Tehran to pay homage to the late leader at the mausoleum of the founder of the Islamic Republic.

The anniversary of the passing away of Imam Khomeini, widely recognized as the symbol of the Islamic Revolution, is marked in many other countries as well.
