Despite all the extra airport security measures installed since the 2001 terror attacks, federal security officials at Los Angeles International Airport, or LAX, missed a loaded gun inside a checked bag on Sunday, the Los Angeles Times and other news organizations are reporting.

The .38-caliber handgun fell out of a duffel bag as a luggage ramp crew was loading it onto an Alaska Airlines flight to Portland, Ore., the Times reports.

The gun was turned over to police temporarily detained the gun owner, who took a later flight to Portland.

Guns are allowed to be in locked containers in checked bags but not loaded, according to the Times.

LMAO! Just a few weeks ago when another TSA agent was caught in a scam, the head of the TSA said, ” We have some of the best trained people around”.

Really?! LOL Guess those “best trained” weren’t at LAX! Shit! Thats funnier than hell!

    Bravo2…..out

  4. Anybody remember that question they ask you about your bags as you are checking them in? “Has your luggage been in you constant possession or have you set your luggage down unattened at any time?” We, the travelers, are part of the security. For the most part they randomly search checked in luggage and it depends on the airport you are flying from and through. They do have and attempt to use x-ray machines in luggage transport but they have to take certain things into consideration with what x-rays affect. Some profeesional photographers still use film which can be damaged as well as some medications degrade drastically from exposure. What they look for is when someone doesn’t board a flight after they have checked in luggage but that is what makes “terrorism” dangerous. Martyrs don’t c

    Apologies. My phone bugged out.
Martyrs don’t care to die because that’s their purpose. A loaded gun poses no danger on an airplane in the cargo area comparible to the thousands of pounds of jet fuel riding with you or an incompetent pilot trying to make up time by flying through a storm. Maybe I’m wrong here but why would a “terrorist” use a bomb when all they would need to do is ignite the fuel on board? If someone’s got an answer please fill me in.

  5. That’s because they’re not looking for actual or legitimite “contraband”!!! They’re looking for camel toes…
