UK: Chemical Bomb Attack Foiled

Three nonwhites—two legal immigrants, and a “refugee” from Iraq—have been arrested by British police for preparing a chemical bomb attack and a Paris-style massacre.

The two legal immigrants, aged 19 and 20, are brothers, while the Iraqi “refugee” has been named as 19-year-old Ali Esayed.

According to a report in the London Metro newspaper, the two brothers were arrested on charges of “preparation of terror attacks,” while Esayed was arrested for a “religiously aggravated offence.”

Esayed, originally from Mosul, Iraq, was residing with his family in Kennington, southeast London. He had “arrived” in the UK in 2007 as a “refugee” with his parents and sisters.

Counterterrorism police arrested the two brothers in a dawn raid at their West London home after what was described as a “massive undercover security operation.”

They are accused of making plans to obtain automatic weapons and bomb-making chemicals to stage an attack, presumably in London.

Security sources told media that the plans were well advanced and “significant.”

Security sources added that it appeared that the nonwhites were planning “simultaneous copycat suicide missions” such as those seen in Paris in November 2015.

Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe warned earlier that it was a case of “when, not if” the UK would be subjected to an ISIS attack.

The 19-year-old brother is believed to be the ringleader, and was held on suspicion of preparing for an act of terrorism.

His older brother was arrested on charges of funding terrorism and failing to disclose information regarding an act of terrorism. He was also detained on suspicion of preparing terrorist acts.

In a follow-up press statement released on September 9, Scotland Yard announced that the 20-year-old and Esayed had been bailed “following their arrests by officers from the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command supported by the South East Counter Terrorism Unit.” The 19-year-old remained in custody.

In a separate immigrant-terrorist incident, West Midlands counterterrorism police this week charged four legally resident nonwhites with terrorism offences.

Naweed Ali, 28, and Khobaib Hussain, 24, both of Sparkhill in Birmingham, and Mohibur Rahman, 31, and Tahir Aziz, 37, of Stoke-on-Trent, were arrested on August 26, and appeared on September 9 at Westminster Magistrates’ Court in London.

According to reports of their court appearance, police found a meat cleaver with the word “kaffir”—meaning “unbeliever”—carved on the handle, along with guns and bullets in a vehicle belonging to the nonwhites.

Prosecutor Louise Gray told the court that police had searched a car belonging to one of the accused and had found a “pair of black latex gloves, a pipe with a bolt attached either side to shotgun cartridges and a small amount of a black powder in the pipe.”

“A Beretta firearm and an air gun designed to look and feel like a real gun was also found in the car along with 9mm ammunition, a shotgun, a meat cleaver with the word Kaffir carved into it.

“There are 114 WhatsApp messages. The conversation covers a range of topics including Islam, Jihad, and violent extremism. There are other exchanges of posts where videos and links were posted relating to Daesh [ISIS], the events in Syria, and articles about MI5 blackmailing British Muslims.”

All four were remanded in custody until their next appearance on September 19.
