UK PM’s popularity at lowest yet: poll

The Sun/YouGov poll found only 30 percent of the British population believe David Cameron would “make best PM.”

The finding is especially scandalous for the Conservative PM who has lost eight points in the past two weeks after revelations that his party’s co-treasurer offered access to Cameron in return for minimum £250,000 donations to the Tories.

The past two weeks were also a financial hot tub for Cameron’s government, which has launched measures to cut £4.7 billion off tax credits for the poor and welfare benefits by 2015, while pushing for a state surveillance scheme that would send £1.9 billion of taxpayer money down the drain to give officials immediate access to people’s web surfing, emails, phone calls, and even online game chats.

The poll also showed public’s confidence in Labour leader Ed
Miliband is no better than Cameron as only 19 percent of the
public see Miliband as making the “best PM.”

Liberal Democrat leader and Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg’s popularity is worse still with only five percent saying he would make “best PM.”
