A senior Indonesian Customs official Made Wijaya said the 56-year-old woman arrived at Ngurah Rai International Airport from Bangkok on May 19 and was arrested after airport officers seized 4.7 kilograms of cocaine from her suitcase.
“We first spotted the cocaine through routine X-Ray scanning,” Customs and Excise Agency monitoring division head, Made Wijaya, told The Jakarta Post.
The woman identified as Lindsay Sandiford would be executed by firing squad if she is found guilty of drugs trafficking.
