A Charlotte man is behind bars after investigators say he threatened to kill President Obama during the Democratic National Convention.

Jarmar Donte Sims, 21, was arrested Wednesday, charged with a felony criminal complaint accusing him of threatening the president’s life.
The threats were made by Sims on his Twitter account on Monday morning.

According to the FBI, the drunken Sims’ first tweet was sent at 10:06 am on Monday. He tweeted: “Well I am going to assassinate president Obama this evening! I got to get this monkey off my chest

while he’s in town.”

“I’m going hit president Obama with that Lee Harvey Oswald swag,” he tweeted just two minutes later.

Sims is being held in a federal detention center and has a hearing scheduled for next Tuesday.

Investigators say Sims was interviewed by Secret Service agents at his home where he admitted that he hated the president.
