Awake Goy Władysław Czachórski (1850 – 1911) was born in Lublin, Poland and studied at the School of Fine of Arts in Warsaw. He then went to Germany to study at the Dresden Academy and then Munich Academy, with Munich then becoming his home. He would go on to travel around the art capitols of Europe, become a member of the Berlin Academy, organize exhibitions in Poland, and be awarded the Order of St. Michael.
Although he painted portraits, still lifes, and Shakespearean scenes, Czachórski was best known for his young ladies.
The hallmark of Czachorski’s style, however, and the basis of his fame, are his images of beautiful young women in rich interiors, painted with great realism. He has long been regarded a master of rendering fabrics, jewelry and other details to create the atmosphere of luxury and elegance.”
