John Vine, the Government’s chief inspector of immigration, highlighted the failings of security staff in a highly critical report.

It followed a study of the immigration and customs operation Gatwick Airport’s North Terminal last summer.

It was Mr Vine who disclosed the unauthorised relaxation of immigration checks which heaped embarrassment on Theresa May, the Home Secretary, and led to Brodie Clark being forced out of his job as Border Force.

  1. This stuff has been going on for years and years and years but people chose to turn a blind eye. Anywhere where one group of people are given extra-legal power over another group will always lead to situations like this. It amazes me that it is only now that just a few people are waking up to this yet it was there for all to see with WW2 and the Nazis.

Similarly it is only now that people are waking up to illegal strip searches of people who are arrested. That has been happening forever in the US. Up until the 80s you could be strip seached in Chicago just for being picked up by police. There are loads of accounts of this online and documented. Women got a particularly raw deal where they could be taken to the police station and literally raped by a so-called ‘nurse’ for not paying a traffic ticket or for a minor driving mistake. All of this has been bubbling under the surface for a very long time.

  2. hmm… guess they succeeded in hiring more pervo-lesbo’s
