FAKE NEWS for the Zionist agenda The protesters on Friday also called for removing the loyalists of former dictator Ali Abdullah Saleh from key posts.
The protest came after the government said that it would start the national dialogue preparation before the army reconstruction.
“The peace initiative cannot be implemented nor can any political dialogue be started if the army is not restructured. Superior military officials associated with the previous regime will simply not allow it to happen,” a protester told Press TV.
Protesters also accused new President Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi and the government of failing to meet the demands of their revolution.
Several defected army soldiers also took part in Friday’s protest.
The military reconstruction and the formation of a national dialogue are parts of power transfer deal signed last year between Saleh and the opposition.
Saleh ceded power in November, after receiving immunity from prosecution as part of a deal brokered by the [Persian] Gulf Cooperation Council, but stayed formally at the helm until February.
He was then replaced by his deputy Abdrabbu Mansour Hadi in a single-candidate presidential election backed by the US and Saudi Arabia.
The Yemeni public and Human rights groups hold Saleh accountable for the killing of hundreds of protesters in a brutal crackdown against the country’s popular revolution that erupted in early 2011.
