Every day, people in Gaza, the West Bank and inside Israel make decisions about what risks they will take, and how they will respond to brutality. And every day, Mondoweiss reports on these brave and painful choices.
Mondoweiss provides reporting, images, and analysis that brings the reality of the Palestinian people into sharp focus: journalism that powers justice. We can bring these stories to you—and we are getting increasing attention from both the broader public and policy makers—because of the generous donations you have made in the past. Today we ask you once again to help us serve the movement for justice in Palestine, by responding to our year-end appeal.
We are excited to announce that four longtime donors have shown their confidence in both Mondoweiss’s work and the commitment of our community. These generous people have assembled a Challenge Fund of $50,000—which will be available to build Mondoweiss further if and only if we can raise $90,000 by year-end from the rest of our supporters.
Our challenge donors share the belief of so many Mondoweiss readers: the site’s news and analysis about events in Israel/Palestine are essential. These are stories you will not see in the mainstream media—stories that counter the dominant narratives.
A few weeks ago, for example, American families gathered around their tables on November 26 for Thanksgiving dinner. That same day, Khalid Mahmoud al-Jawabreh, 19, was killed by Israeli forces in al Arroub refugee camp in the occupied West Bank.
Khalid’s photo did not flash across your TV screen. His name and story have been virtually ignored in the mainstream media. But you and others learned about his murder through the reporting and photography of Mondoweiss correspondent Anne Paq.
Day after day, year after year, Mondoweiss documents the facts and expresses our movement’s ideas. We provide compelling images that show the stark reality of what is happening to innocent Palestinian men, women, and children. No one story, image or video can power justice alone—which is why it’s so essential that Mondoweiss is here to bring them together and share them around the world.
