Protests continue in Buenos Aires supporting workers laid off from US multinational auto parts company Lear. As we reported previously, Lear has laid off 200 workers in effort to thwart workers organizing. Roadblocks were evicted violently in June by Gendarmería and regular pickets and roadblocks have continued since then.
Lear Corporation announced this week it was closing the factory and suspending all staff for 15 days. A new court ruling was recently issued in favor of the Lear workers that forced the ministry of labor to ensure that the fired delegates can enter the factory. The company announced the closure before the order could be executed.

Victoria Moyano has been very publicly supporting the struggle of the Lear workers since the beginning. She stood on the front line of the initial roadblock which was evicted by Gendarmería in June.
Just last night Victoria gave testimony regarding her own recovery by the Grandmothers of la Plaza de Mayo in relation to the return of Estela de Carlotto’s grandson who was reunited today with the founder of the Grandmothers group after being linked via DNA tests.
