5 Huge Peaks That are Surprisingly Accessible

There’s nothing quite like the thrill of reaching the summit — whether it’s a 2-hour hike or a month-long journey. But even some of the bad boy mountains are within reach for the average human, says Alex Davis on Discovery Adventure:

For those who aren’t professional or expert climbers, but want to feel like they’ve reached the top of the world, there are still great peaks to be conquered. These five mountains will push you to your limit without killing you, and are sure to send you home with a great story to tell.

Mt Kilimanjaro — the fourth highest in the world at 19,341 feet above sea level — isn’t actually a hard climb, but will need a week of your time.

A cable car system gets you nearly to the top of dormant volcano Mt Elbrus, in Russia. It drops you off at 12,500 feet — you just have to make it another 6,000 feet on your own.
