Australian Federal Police have arrested four men believed to be organisers of an international people smuggling syndicate.
Home Affairs Minister Jason Clare said the group was charged with serious people smuggling offences in Sydney and Melbourne.
Those arrested included a 42-year-old man and a 19-year-old man.
Mr Clare said the arrests were the result of an an eight-month investigation which involved working with law enforcement agencies from Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia.
