Taliban’s spokesperson Suhail Shaheen has said that his movement proposed cooperating with the US after the 9/11 attacks instead of American forces invading Afghanistan, but the US refused, Anadolu reported yesterday.
In an interview with Geo TV, Shaheen said: “I remember that we condemned the incident. Abdul-Salam Zarif was the ambassador in Pakistan and I was his assistant. We held a press conference and condemned the incident.”
“We said that we are ready to reveal the reality behind closed doors and to reveal the criminals.”
Shaheen added that the Taliban called on Washington to sort out the issue of Al-Qaeda without the invasion of the country.
