Anonymous mounts hacking attack on China

According to Chinese news services, government officials have denied that any
attacks have taken place, despite the Anonymous message being visible for
some time on some websites, while others were taken offline completely.

Last month the FBI charged six men suspected of being senior figures in
Anonymous.

Among the accused named in New York federal court documents as taking part in
“computer hacking conspiarcy” are a 19 year-old from the Shetland islands,
Jake Davis, and a 25 year-old from Doncaster, Ryan Ackroyd. They have
already been arrested by British police but now face possible extradition to
the US.

In February alleged Anonymous hackers were arrested in Argentina, Chile,
Columbia and Spain.

Anonymous, which has targeted organisations from the Catholic church to
Finnish neo-Nazis, styles itself as a leaderless collective to which anyone
can claim membership.
