German artist Valérie Buess has taken the pages out of unwanted books and turned them into something people might actually look at. Born in Switzerland, Buess has been working with paper as a medium for the last 20 years. And it shows!
Her work is both simple and complicated, and all inspired by the natural world. Clouds, sea shells, cocoons, waves, and even the universe are just a few of her muses.
I hope the irony of books turned into art which you are then viewing online is not wasted on you.

The clouds above almost look like fireworks, right? Simply stunning. The universe below is probably one of my favorite pieces. The God’s-eye-view of it makes it seem fragile, almost tender. Maybe it is just the egg shape, but I am kind of afraid to touch it. Like, I might break it and ruin everything.
You don’t want to be the guy who broke the universe, do you?
