Police were called to the house in Camillo after the attack on the elderly man.
Police in Perth are searching for a group of people they believe took part in an attack on a 73 year-old man.
The man was outside his home in Camillo, near Armadale, looking for his dog about 10.30 last night when he was attacked by four men and two females.
He was hit with a baseball bat and suffered two broken ribs, a fractured vertebrae, a fracture to one forearm and cuts to his head.
He is in Fremantle Hopital being treated for his injuries.
A 26 year-old man has been taken into custody for questioning.
Police are looking for another three men and two women.
