Residents have been evacuated as an urban bushfire threatens homes in Sydney’s southwest.
The fire kicked up on Wednesday afternoon (AEDT) in Minto and strong winds are making it difficult to battle the blaze.
Fire and Rescue NSW spokesman Ian Krimmer says 15 crews are on the scene, including units from the NSW Rural Fire Service.
People have been evacuated from the area but no property damage has been reported.
The bushfire has scorched a large area of bushland, Superintendent Krimmer said but firefighters have the blaze under control.
There are no reports of injuries.
