Before he was released from prison last November, lawyers argued that Charlie Gilmour had ‘successfully reformed and rehabilitated himself’.
But five months on, it seems that the adopted son of Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour is not exactly living up to that promise.
The 22-year-old, who was jailed for his part in a rampage at a student fees protest in December 2010, was pictured at fetish-themed party last Sunday at Cambridge University. Gilmour is due to resume his history degree there in October.

The photograph, which was published on the online version of Varsity, one of Cambridge’s student newspapers, shows Gilmour wearing a pink-and-black mask covering his entire head, with holes cut out for his eyes and mouth. He is flanked by a woman in a pink wig.
Gilmour, who served four months of a 16-month sentence for violent disorder, was understood to be in Cambridge visiting friends.
Last night, a spokesman for the family declined to comment.
Gilmour shot to notoriety after he was photographed swinging from the Cenotaph by a Union Jack during the fees protests.
At his trial, Kingston Crown Court heard how the student blamed an ‘emotionally painful’ meeting with his biological father – writer Heathcote Williams – for his actions.

Gilmour’s mother, author and journalist Polly Samson, split from Williams before marrying the rock musician in 1994.
Gilmour, who was educated at £9,000-a-year Lancing College in West Sussex, said he had taken a cocktail of valium and LSD before joining thousands of protesters in Trafalgar Square.
He later claimed he did not know what the Cenotaph was. He also leapt on to the bonnet of a Jaguar car that formed part of a Royal convoy, and threw a bin at the vehicle.
Earlier this month, Cambridge University confirmed Gilmour, whose adoptive father is worth an estimated £85 million, would be allowed to complete his degree at Girton College. It followed an apology from the student for what he described as a ‘moment of idiocy’.

What a pathetic bunch of individuals. Is life one long round of enertainment for these so called ‘university students’. All funded by daddy’s money, which his anti-capitalistic views don’t seem to run true with. Leave him go out int he real world and stop playing at being grown up. Waste of space.

Protesting against higher tuition fees then claiming not to know what one of the most famous memorials in this country is? Ignorance, stupidy, both perhaps? The bandwagon jumping torag got off with it lightly, he should been given a heavy stint of community service too, to teach him real values of work. Stuck up rich kid attempting to rebel, looks like his £9,000 p/y education has went down the drain.

And? So what it’s just a photo of a young man at a party. Just because he was in prison last year doesn’t mean he’s banned from attending parties for the rest of his life. He wasn’t setting fire to anything, he wasn’t falling over drunk in the street. Get a grip DM.

Pathetic and sensationalist headline and non-story yet again. The chap is simply joining in with a university fancy dress occasion (silly as it may be), he’s not committing any crimes or doing wrong – stop trying to stir up trouble where none is occurring, it is despicably irresponsible and unethical and is increasingly a regular feature of the DM,…disappointing.

His actions were despicable, but to pick this as an example of him failing to be ‘reformed’ is beyond ridiculous. Yes, DM, attending a fetish-themed party is akin to swinging on the Cenotaph and engaging in public disorder *rolls eyes*. It’s not the 1950s anymore.
