CIA ‘ordered cage to hold prisoners in Poland’

Earlier this week a source at the Krakow prosecutor’s office, the body handling the investigation, said there was a partially signed agreement over the establishment of the site, inked by Zbigniew Siemiatkowski, the then head of Poland secret service who has since come under formal investigation for his alleged role in the “black site” operation.

The reason why the line for the American signature was left blank, the source claims, is that the “Americans did not want to leave traces of evidence”.

Two men, Abu Zubaydah and Abd al Rahim al-Nashari, have been granted victim status by Polish prosecutors after claiming they were tortured at the site.

Al-Nashari, wanted by the CIA on suspicion of involvement in the bombing of the USS Cole in Aden in 2000, said he was threatened with a pistol and at one time an electric drill during interrogations in Poland.
