DNA used in SA cold case

DNA evidence has linked a 58-year-old South Australian man to a rape and break-in in the state’s Riverland region almost 25 years ago.

Police said detectives took a fresh look at the cold case and used forensic and DNA evidence to link the man to the offences in Berri in 1988.

He was charged with one count of breaking into a premises and one count of rape.

The man was bailed to appear in the Berri Magistrates Court at a later date.
