Egypt’s Foreign Ministry follows Probe into Egyptian Man found dead in Garage in London

TCP : Egypt is conducting a probe into the death of an Egyptian national who was found in his burnt-out car at a garage in London, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ahmed Abu Zeid stated Tuesday.

Sherif Adel Michael, 21, died upon arrival to a Sussex  hospital hours after was found burnt at a garage in Cranleigh Gardens, South Hall, west of London early Monday, state news agency MENA reported.

“The Egyptian Consul in London Alaa Youssef is closely following up the investigation run by the U.K. police to determine the reasons for the accident,” said Abu Zeid, adding that the consulate will provide all necessary assistance and legal support to his family members.

Michael died in a massive fire that broke out in a building in the district of Southall in London, state-run news agency MENA reported on Tuesday citing British police.

The reason for the fire is still under investigation and more details would be available soon, Abu Zeid concluded.

Egypt calls on the British authorities “to give due diligence to and intensify investigation into this mysterious incident in order to establish its causes, identify the perpetrators and bring them to justice,” a presidential statement said Tuesday.
