Alarmist predictions that the long-term health effects of the Fukushima nuclear accident in Japan will be worse than those following Chernobyl in 1986 are likely to aggravate harmful psychological effects of the incident. That was the warning heard at an international conference on radiation research in Warsaw, Poland, this week.

One report, in UK newspaper The Independent, quoted a scientist who predicted more than a million would die, and that the prolonged release of radioactivity from Fukushima would make health effects worse than those from the sudden release experienced at the Chernobyl nuclear reactor in Ukraine.

“We’ve got to stop these sorts of reports coming out, because they are really upsetting the Japanese population,” says Gerry Thomas at Imperial College London, who is attending the meeting. “The media has a hell of a lot of responsibility here, because the worst post-Chernobyl effects were the psychological consequences and this shouldn’t happen again.”

I have to agree, that the psychological effects will make it much worse for people, as the mind is spiritual material that can condense into visible form for whatever idea a man is made to believe about his body. This is how all diseases are brought about.

For those who’d rather just filter the radiation out of their water, I recommend looking at the filters I linked to my name.

Radiation exposure can cause lots of problems, over and above cancer and leukemia. It breaks chemical bonds, damages DNA chromosomes, interferes with cell division, ruins bone marrow, destroys body tissues of all kinds, affects reproductive organs (can cause sterility and infertility), causes birth defects, can cause premature aging, and has many other adverse affects (such as — if enough to bring sickness — nausea and vomiting, loss of appetite, fatigue, fever, seizures, and in severe cases coma and death).

What is more, people who are contaminated can spread the contamination both directly, by touch or through bodily fluids (e.g., sex, sneezing, etc.), or indirectly, by contaminating objects (furniture, door-knobs, …) that are later touched by others. And animals can be contaminated, which exposes people who eat the animals, drink cow’s milk, consume eggs, and so on. But then there are edible plants, fish, dust in the wind, rain, and water sources. But this kind of discussion can go on and on.

So, how is it that the “psychological consequences” of learning the truth about the massive amounts of radiation coming from Japan could possibly be worse than the radiation itself?

We have three military bases in Japan, I have been to all three, Our military in harms way need to go awol, What good is a pay check if you will be dead in no time at all. Is it worth it guys.

Media coverage may be harmful? Why not come and and tell the people the truth and tell the people to get as far away from Fukishima as possible. Why don’t the Japanese Government entomb the damn facility? Get the politicians to do it!
- How to prevent public panic:
  
  Downplay the radiation threat and have the EPA raise the level of “harmless” radiation by 100x. Then hype the threat of information and its “psychological effects”.
  - Sadly it has worked on the masses so far.
- Well like they told you……..the truth will be harmful and depressing to the Japanese population LOL!
Japan is done it will possibly never recover and possibly the northern third of the country and more may become unihabitable.
Companies are leaving or planning to leave Japan.
Anybody thinks they can live and thrive in a country thats full radiation has got to be out of their mind.
Remember those funny people who used to comment that the earthquake was caused by Comet Elenin?

We won’t be hearing much from them any more.

Comet Elenin is disintegrating. In a few days, it will be nothing but dust in space. A big fat dud.
