There are two things we can always count on after a shooting. One is that Obama will hold a press conference screaming for stricter gun legislation and the other is Geraldo Rivera spouting off about the same thing.
Apparently Geraldo felt the need to attack the 2nd Amendment on the heels of the mass shooting/terrorist attack by Muslims in San Bernardino, California.
Geraldo took to Twitter to launch his anti gun campaign.

He spelled San Bernardino wrong as well as the abbreviation for 2nd. What an idiot.

It is interesting to note that Rivera was criticizing the 2nd Amendment as “stupid” long before the attack in San Bernardino took place, Breitbart points out. For example, after a firearms instructor was killed in an Arizona gun range accident involving a 9-year-old tourist on August 28, 2014, Rivera responded by describing the 2nd Amendment as “blind and stupid.”
On the day of the accidental death, he posted the following to Facebook:
Like I always say, the 2nd Amendment, the provision that gives every American the right to keep and bear arms, is blind and stupid. In its relentless pimping for the gun industry, the NRA has unleashed an avalanche of deadly weapons on this gun-crazy country. Just as protects access to weapons for cops and hunters, it also protects access to weapons for domestic abusers, mental patients, jerk-offs on the no-fly list, all-around dim bulbs, and now little children.
What are these gun grabbing idiots going to do whenever people break into their home in the middle of the night to rape and kill their families? Tell them they’re sorry they didn’t have a gun for a chance to protect them, before the people that broke in kill them? Don’t be a victim and be unprepared to defend what you hold dear. The world you try to pretend would exist without firearms has never existed, and you can not legislate evil out of the world.
The founding fathers were very clear for a reason, I’m not sure what part of “Shall Not Be Infringed” people do not understand. If these blow hards were honest about it, they’d just admit total gun confiscation is their goal. There is an avenue for them to have what they really want and that is to repeal the 2nd amendment. You have morons like Geraldo and the democratic party all but calling for just that, but you also have law abiding Americans who invite them to try.
The Second Amendment is not only about self defense, home protection, concealed carry, hunting, or any of the other things people get worked up about. It is the ultimate check and balance for a constitution based on layers of checks and balances. It was set up as the last line of defense to protect citizens.from an overreaching government, even if the rest of the branches fail to keep the promise. The true power of the USA was always to be embedded with its citizens, not the government. This is precisely why they want to take it away. With the power of the people eroded, there is no one to stop them from the “fundamental change” in government they are seeking. It is troubling that so many fail to see this and are so willing to hand it over.
Defend the Constitution or lose your freedom, that’s the bottom line. There will be another Civil War in this country before American patriots will let Obama and his Muslim brotherhood friends take over the United States of America. It’s inevitable.
