nsnbc : Police in the Bavarian capital Munich evacuated two train stations and warned the public about the threat of a possible terror attack by the self-proclaimed Islamic State.

Police evacuated Munich’s Central Station and the Pasing Railway Station in the Bavarian capital late Thursday and recommended that people avoid crowded spaces. Something that is more easy said than done during New Year celebrations.
The most “terror-fying” may have been the warning about the possible terrorist bang while 99.99% of all fireworks in Munich were used for legal purposes and relatively safely.
At 19:45 CET Germany’s Federal Criminal Police authority (BKA) informed police in Munich that the BKA had received information about the presence of some 5-7 Islamic State (ISIS / ISIL / Daesh) in the Bavarian capital, said Munich Police Chief Hubertus Andrä.
The Police Chief also noted that police had deployed some 550 additional officers in Munich. The Bavarian capital is one of the German cities that has received the largest number of refugees during the recent wave of mass migration.
The Central Station and Pasig Station were opened again at 04:00 on the morning of January 1, 2016 – right in time to get festive New Year bangers home safely.
At 04:45 Munich Police announced that they were glad that nothing had happened, that investigations of course continue. Police also thanked people for having been very helpful by “understanding that the measures had been necessary and by remaining calm”. It is at this time uncertain how many Bavarians were injured in non-terrorism-related incidents caused by e.g. driving under the influence.
