UPDATE 3.48pm: HOMICIDE detectives are looking for a missing man after the death of a woman on the Mornington Peninsula.
The body of a woman, aged in her 60s, was found in a house in Observation Drive, Rye, this morning.
Police say they are looking for a 57-year-old man from the nearby town of Blairgowrie.
They say he is believed to have been in a relationship with the victim and may be able to help the investigation.
His car is an aqua blue 1999 Hyundai sedan with a registration of XSJ 885.
Homicide squad Det-Sgt Brent Fisher told the Mornington Peninsula Leader police were called to the Observation Drive property at 8.05am after a phone call.

“We don’t think a weapon was used but we won’t know the full circumstances until a post mortem is conducted,’’ he said.
Sgt Fisher said the woman lived alone, but knew the Blairgowie man police are searching for.
“They are known to each other, and were quite close friends,’’ he said.
Sgt Fisher appealed for the man, who is known to police, to hand himself in or call Crime Stoppers.
While the woman has not been formally identified, police said it was believed she was from Rye.
Crime scene experts remain at the home gathering evidence.
Police have urged the Blairgowrie man to come forward and say anyone who sees his car should call 1800 333 000 or visit the website www.crimestoppers.com.au
The discovery of the woman’s body comes hours after day a man was found dead at his newsagency in Bendigo.
The deaths follow the discovery of three other bodies in just over a week.
