Awake Goy Days of Palestine, Jerusalem –Israeli occupation government approved on Tuesday new settlement units in illegal Israeli Jewish settlements in occupied West Bank.
Israeli Supreme Planning Council of Civil Administration approved plans to build 153 new settlement units in the illegal settlements of Etz Efraim, Carmel, Rehelim and Alon Shvut.
The news comes just months after the US reportedly warned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that if new settlements are declared Washington will not come to Israeli aid and veto a UN Security Council resolution declaring the West Bank housing units illegal.
Arab Joint List MK Aida Touma-Sliman questioned the Israeli government’s reported decision to green-light the new settlement units while carrying out increased enforcement of demolition orders against so-called “illegal structures” in Arab communities in occupied Palestine.
“In Taibe they destroy homes and in the settlements they build,” she said. “As the Netanyahu government continues with the policy of destroying the homes of Arabs, it approves the construction of housing units for settlers who live on occupied land.”
