Italian troupe to perform in Tehran

The group will stage Lev and (a+b)3, both of which were also performed at Iran’s 2012 Fajr International Theater Festival in February.

Lev recounts the story of a Russian veteran during World War II, who loses his memory, but is obliged to maintain contact with people.

(a+b)3 is about two lovers who plan to go out at night. They get ready and move out frantically, until they stop in front of a mirror that reflects their names on their dim shadows.

Muta Imago was founded by playwright Riccardo Fazi, director Claudia Sorace and scenographer Massimo Troncanetti in 2004.

The troupe takes a positive approach to theatrical research by use of technology and a highly corporeal style of recitation. Its shows, performances and installations mostly focus on the relationship between human beings, space and time.

Madeleine (2009), La Rabbia Rossa (2010) and Displace (2011) are the other works staged by the troupe at many national and international festivals such us RomaEuropa Festival, Napoli Teatro Festival Italia, Vie Scena Contemporanea Festival, Bassano Opera Festival, Premieres Festival, Festival Cyl, Bipod Festival, Unidram Festival, Temps d’Images, Festival International des Brigittines and Theatre de la Ville.

Muta Imago has won many important prizes such as the Premio Speciale Ubuand the Prize DE.MO./Movin’UP.

The 29th Fajr International Theater Festival granted its Best Director Prize to Claudia Sorace of Muta Imago for (a+b)3 and Lev.
