Man critical after NSW caravan park fight

A 67-year-old man has severe head injuries after being punched during a fight at a caravan park in Port Macquarie, on the NSW mid north coast.

The man fell heavily to the ground after being hit during the altercation with another man on Hastings River Drive about 4.30pm (AEST) on Saturday, police say.

He was airlifted by rescue helicopter to Newcastle’s John Hunter Hospital for emergency treatment and remains in a critical condition.

A 65-year-old man was arrested at the scene and questioned by police, but was later released without charge.
