Moreton Island fire threatens campsites

About 300 campers have been moved from their sites after a bushfire jumped a containment line on Moreton island off Brisbane.

Holidaymakers camping on the northeast corner of the island were relocated as a precaution on Thursday afternoon, a Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) spokesman said.

Firefighters have been battling the blaze on the popular tourist destination for a week, after it was sparked by a vehicle.

QPWS says there is no threat to property.
