The dark shadow of German-driven austerity measures squeezing Greece has revived historical enmities and evoked comparisons to the massive destruction of the Mediterranean country at the hands of Nazi Germany over 65 years ago.
Cartoons have sprung up depicting the European Union’s “troika” as ferocious soldiers in World War Two German uniforms, and some Greeks are beginning to resent the German tourists flocking their ancient sites.
The staff cartoonist for the liberal daily Eleftherotypia has drawn dozens of such cartoons in recent months, often showing Greek Finance Minister Evangelos Venizelos giving the Nazi salute “Sieg Heil” (Hail Victory) to a soldier.
“I used the German uniforms symbolically,” cartoonist Stathis Stavropoulos told Reuters through an interpreter.

The American dream worked just fine until the FED was created in 1913. For nearly 100 years the American dream has been battered down to the point where a Canadian can look up from reading “Whacking Off For Dummies” and say: “Silly Americans. Just put the blinders on and go with it. WE did!”
It is truly sad to see how propaganda has done its job… To get some thing straight:
1. Greeks don’t retire at 50 but at 65-67.
2. According to EUROSTAT, (the statistical organization of EU), Greeks work more hours than every other country in EU.
3. Greece does not have more public holidays than other EU countries.
4. Before the crisis, the basic salary for a Greek employee was about 700 euros. Now it is 590 and decreasing…
5. Greece is one of the most expensive countries to live in Europe.
Just don’t believe everything you read in the internet or watch in TV…

Oh Tom! The battles of Thermopylae and Marathon are two of the most studied military engagements and are taught at every US academy to this day. They are not “mythology”. Sun Tzu is also greatly studied at the academies as well. The tactics of Phillip and Alexander are also well studied. You already know this.
I am Greek. My nickname among friends is, “Αρης”. That is a mythological name.. “Ares” in English.
The Greeks have been “dumbed down” as has the whole world. Hopefully they too shall awake from their slumber as we here in the states awaken our people from their slumber.
