Prime Minister Julia Gillard will “hangout” online this Saturday.
Following in the footsteps of US President Barack Obama – who used Google+ Hangout in January to interact with young voters – Ms Gillard will be live-streamed on her YouTube channel taking questions via video, Facebook and Twitter.
“It’s modern democracy and modern technology at work,” the prime minister says on her website.
Ms Gillard has taken to social networking and email in recent months to talk about policy and get around traditional forms of media.
