Hundreds of people attended the funeral on Friday of 19-year-old Khalid Mahmoud al-Jawabreh, killed the day before by the Israeli forces inside Al Arroub refugee camp.
Al Aroub refugee camp has witnessed many clashes since the beginning of October. Due to its proximity to Road 60, there is always a heavy Israeli military presence around the camp. Its mains entrances are closed by road blocks, and a military tower faces the main exit.
The mother of Khalid herself helped to carry the body of her son for a few minutes, which is unusual in Muslim funerals.
During the funeral, calls for responses to the Israeli attacks were made. More than 100 Palestinians have been killed by the Israeli forces or settlers, since the beginning of October.
Clashes with the Israeli army followed the funeral, and at least one Palestinian was injured in the head.
Clashes also occurred in Bethlehem, and lasted until the night. Scores of tear gas canisters, rubber-coated metal bullets were fired at protesters, as well as live ammunition. Several Palestinians were injured, including a journalist and a mentally-handicapped person.
Children carry the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PLFP) flags which was dominant during the funeral.
