Police are searching for a man who may have drowned in a fast-flowing Melbourne creek.
A Dandenong man told police he saw a man aged in his 20s stagger along a footbridge before falling backwards into Dandenong Creek in Melbourne’s east, about 10.35pm (AEDT).
Police Search and Rescue and Air Wing units are searching the creek, which is flowing with overnight rain.
The fallen man is described as being Caucasian, aged in his mid to late 20s, with a slim build, beard, moustache and wearing blue jeans.
The witness, a man aged in his 30s, said he saw the man fall while he was driving over the Hammond Creek Bridge and although he returned to the scene a short time later, could not find him and called triple zero.
