Britain’s Ministry of Defense said on Sunday that the soldier was wounded by an improvised explosive device (IED) in the southern province of Helmand in February, Sky News reported.
“He died of his injuries in Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham with his family around him,” the ministry said.
Two British troopers were also killed by an Afghan soldier in Helmand province two weeks ago.
The latest death brings the number of British soldiers killed in Afghanistan to 408 since the beginning of the Afghan war in 2001.
