The Censor

(Deafened by Our Silence)

It wasn’t me they silenced,
It was you, whom they made deaf,
Men who fear what we might say,
Will still the critic’s breath,
Censored by the men who fear,
Who lance the truth with poison spear,
Denied the words you wish to hear,
It’s death for critic’s tongue.

You’re deafened by our silence,
This burden is your pride?
Relieves you of the need to know,
When truth and lies collide;
Censored by the coward men,
Who fear the tongue and writer’s pen,
But soon the knock will come for them;
They’ll not sleep well tonight.
