Two stabbed after burglar chase in Perth

Two men have been stabbed with a knife after chasing a suspected burglar in Perth.

Police say a man was investigating a noise outside his home in Kingsley, in Perth’s north, about 3.30am (WST) on Tuesday when he saw the alleged burglar jumping the fence.

The man gave chase with his neighbour but the offender produced a knife when they reached him.

All three men suffered knife wounds or other injuries during the struggle and were taken to hospital.

In a separate incident, a security guard was stabbed in the leg with a pocket knife while detaining a woman and her friend for shoplifting in Mandurah, south of Perth.

Police allege the 34-year-old woman was caught with a trolley of stolen goods at the Mandurah Centro shopping centre on Monday afternoon.

She was charged with stealing and unlawful wounding.

In a third incident, a man was threatened with a screwdriver after he returned to his Kardinya home, in Perth’s south, on Monday night to find an intruder inside.

Police allege the intruder had had a shower and had been eating food from the fridge.

When the man confronted the intruder, he allegedly threatened him with a screwdriver and fled.

He was later arrested and charged with armed robbery and burglary.
