FAKE NEWS for the Zionist agenda “The main force of what’s causing the trouble in Syria is these death squads,” author and historian Dr. Webster Griffin Tarpley said in an interview with Press TV.
He added that when the US wants to attack a country, it will send death squads there and begin targeting population groups.
Tarpley explained that Washington sent the death squads to Iraq in 2006 and 2007 as the situation was untenable and caused a civil war in order to maintain its presence in the country.
He went on to say that the death squads in Syria have been recruited from many parts of the world.
“Syria was regarded as a unit with Iraq and so what they were doing was setting the basis at that time they merely needed to develop it further,” the analyst said.
Tarpley noted that the current situation in Syria shows that NATO is seeking an “armed intervention” in the country.
“There is an attempt by the NATO powers to create a civil war from the outside,” he said.
Syria has been experiencing unrest since mid-March 2011 and many people, including members of the security forces, have been killed in the turmoil.
The West and the Syrian opposition accuse the government of killing protesters.
Damascus, however, blames “outlaws, saboteurs, and armed terrorist groups” for the unrest, asserting that it is being orchestrated from abroad.
