The Liberal party in Victoria plans to have its federal candidates in place in the most winnable seats within weeks.
With 12 months before the election is due, the Victorian Liberals have five new candidates in the field – for the seats of Corangamite, Deakin, La Trobe, Chisholm and Jagajaga – and re-endorsed all 12 sitting MPs.
And on Monday the party closed nominations for preselection in the seats of Bruce, Bendigo, McEwen and Melbourne Ports.
While preselections will be held next month in three of those seats, business manager Kevin Ekendahl was endorsed for the Labor-held seat of Melbourne Ports after his preselection was uncontested.
