Violence kills several across Afghanistan

At least one civilian was killed and over two dozen others injured in rocket attacks that targeted the office of the governor of Farah Province.

Mohammad Ghaus Malyar, deputy provincial police chief, told Press TV that Taliban militants attacked the governor’s office and the nearby market with four Rocket Propelled Grenades (RPG) on Saturday.

He added that three of the injured are in critical condition.

Earlier, a roadside blast destroyed a vehicle in Uruzgan Province, killing all six people on board.

Meanwhile two separate bomb blasts in the southern province of Helmand took the lives of four children and injured several others.

No group has claimed responsibility for the bomb attacks.

Nearly two dozen more people were killed in southern parts of Afghanistan over the past 24 hours.

Insecurity continues to rise across Afghanistan, despite the presence of thousands of US-led forces in the war-torn country.

The US invaded Afghanistan in 2001 under the pretext of combating terrorism and toppling the Taliban regime.

The US-led war in Afghanistan, with civilian and military casualties at record highs, has become the longest military conflict in the American history.
