If you listen carefully, beyond the shrieks of a dying British Empire, there is a symphony at play in the world today and its music is as inspiring and uplifting as genius can produce. It has truly been a labour of love of the human species, designed to transcend the senses. We are important musicians and our composition is coming up soon. We cannot strike an uncertain note note on May 31st.

Our situation is not hopeless, in fact, if we take the appropriate measures it can be extremely hopeful. But, just as great music is founded in scientific principle, so too must the actions now required of us in the economic sphere be in accordance with the same lawful, scientific principles. For Ireland, the first step to be taken in this direction is the rejection, in the upcoming referendum, of the murderous austerity being forced upon us by the Troika, and, shamefully, our own Government. There are a host of reasons for voting “No” and primary of these is the reassertion of the sovereignty of the nation state and of the citizen. Whether enough courage exists within the population to defy the threat of “the rod” by our financial masters and deliver a “No” vote, remains to be seen, but let us resolve to do everything in our power to ensure that it happens because a “No” vote on May 31st will be critically important, not just for the citizens of Ireland, but for those throughout all of Europe.

In addition to our own responsibilities in the referendum, we must bear in mind that there are other processes occurring simultaneously throughout the world at the present time and it is the outcomes of these processes, together with our own actions, that will ultimately determine our future here in Ireland as elsewhere, for a very long time to come. Of most immediate significance to us is the fact that the financial crisis in the Eurozone has now deteriorated to the point that the entire system is very likely to collapse ahead of our referendum, or certainly soon thereafter. How would we deal with such a catastrophe? What happens when the banks shut down and there’s no access to money? Will it be like An Gorta Mor, but worse? Is our Government prepared to meet such existential challenges in any rational way, and are the other so called leaders throughout Europe, not to mention the financiers’ puppet president, Obama? We can tell you that the answer to the last question is categorically no! And if you need confirmation of this, just consider their actions over the past years, months and weeks as the crisis has been unfolding. It has actually been embarrassing, despite the entertainment value, to witness their ineptitude, running from summit to summit like headless chickens, spinning the most unconvincing lies in a desperate attempt to reassure “the markets” and the rest of us that everything’s fine and it’s business as usual.

But fortunately, there are leaders who do have real expertise and know exactly how to rescue us from the chaos ahead and there is a way, tried and proven, to do that. Those who understand the complexity of the current situation and the solutions needed to prevent chaos on a global scale, must now be listened to. That means specifically the worldwide LaRouche Movement, and their co-thinkers, who have been predicting this collapse and developing the only solutions that will work.

The oligarchical system, whose demise we are now witnessing, has been tolerated by humanity for far too long. Who, understanding its brutish nature and the evil it has perpetrated throughout its long reign, would not now joyfully and eagerly join in administering the Last Rites to it and at the same time ushering in a society fit for humanity, at long last?
