Watch: "Eat It Don’t Tweet It" viral video pokes fun at trigger-happy photogs

A YouTube video spoofing shutterbug hipsters who habitually pull out their smartphones and cameras to snap photos of their food and post them on social media like Twitter and Facebook has gone viral for setting lyrics to the Pet Shop Boys’ song “West End Girls,” turning lobster and cupcakes into sassy, back-talking grouches, and giving the final word to a grizzly bear who turns the photographer into human sashimi.

After being uploaded March 27, “Eat It Don’t Tweet It” had received more than 165,600 hits as of 10 am GMT, March 29.

Set to the Pet Shop Boys’ hit “West End Girls,” the lyrics are pseudo-foodie, epicurean gold.

“I’m more like culinary paparazzi/Or gastronomic Annie Leibowitz,” riffs the hipster foodie as he pushes his date aside and snaps photos with his smartphone.

A fed up lobster claw and cupcake, meanwhile, call the man out as well, telling him, among other things:

“You are pathetic, we’re not photogenic/Hurry it up we’re getting cold/Come down here and taste us, don’t humiliate us/No one gives a damn bout what you post.”

And sadly, in a tale of irony, the fate of the photographer is sealed when a “pretentious” grizzly bear snaps a pic of the guy before tucking in.

“Don’t take my photo, you brown furry mofo/The pain in my heart is very real/I need a martini, I feel like sashimi/You gave me the raw end of the deal.”
