A former NYPD narcotics detective snared in a corruption scandal testified it was common practice to fabricate drug charges against innocent people to meet arrest quotas.

The bombshell testimony from Stephen Anderson is the first public account of the twisted culture behind the false arrests in the Brooklyn South and Queens narc squads, which led to the arrests of eight cops and a massive shakeup.

Anderson, testifying under a cooperation agreement with prosecutors, was busted for planting cocaine, a practice known as “flaking,” on four men in a Queens bar in 2008 to help out fellow cop Henry Tavarez, whose buy-and-bust activity had been low.

Hardly new. Cops are corrupt.

Many years ago, when working as a rookie Paramedic, my veteran partner told me about how he had crossed over from EMS to the PD. He told me that he had been forced out of a job when he refused to manufacture evidence. He had been directed by his superiors to write up police reports in such a manner as to justify arrests and improve convictions.

When he refused, the rest of the force quit backing him up on calls. He quit after a 911 dispatcher had him respond to an office building burgular alarm. He found a door ajar and went in to investigate. He told the dispatcher that he was going in. Other arriving units were not advised that he was in the building. When the other officers went into the building he said they tried to kill him. He quit the force on the spot and went back to EMS.
To the many of you who do agree with my blow away cops mentality, when you go to jail or pay a hefty fine because some jurstition needed the money we will see how many of you start waking up and realize it will soon enough be a full scale robbery by the pigs for juristiction to who want to stay afloat. Wake up. I hope many of you start packing guns in your car as things get worse.
- If this cop had done this to me I would have hunted him down and killed him. Once you get a criminal record justfied or not your life is over. I can assume the victims of these cops lives have been completely ruined. The victims are the lucky few getting justice. The overwhelming majority suffer in silence. They need to go on a hunting spree and kill any cops tht planted drugs or knowingly charged them with a crime they did not do and shoot them. These cops would not even be breathing if they had done this to me.
