‘WMDs forbidden in Iran’s doctrine’

On February 22, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said the Iranian nation has never sought and will never seek nuclear weapons as it has the capacity to challenge the nuclear-backed influence such powers rely on.

“Iran believes that the annihilation of all weapons of mass destruction is a sacred goal and that the security and health of humans depend on it,” said President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Wednesday.

He stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation and interaction among all countries in the world to achieve this objective.

The explicit stance and ideal of the Islamic Republic is based on the establishment of peace and security in accordance with the national interests of all nations and a world free of weapons of mass destruction, he pointed out.

The Iranian chief executive called on all global bodies and the international community to fulfill their human responsibility about the victims of chemical weapons, emphasizing that the Iranian government would spare no efforts in this regard.
