A WOMAN has lost her leg after she was found trapped under a car for three days at Tumut in the NSW’s Alpine region.

The 45-year-old woman from Tumut, in NSW, was driving home along Wondalga Road about 3pm on Christmas Day after visiting family when she lost control of her Commodore on a bend and careered down an embankment.

The car came to rest on its roof and the woman, the only occupant of the car, was pinned underneath by her leg.

About 6pm yesterday, a local teen was walking to a neighbouring property when he heard cries for help.

The teen noticed the woman was trapped and immediately called emergency services who rescued her a short time later.

The woman was airlifted by South Care helicopter to Canberra Hospital where she underwent surgery. The woman had to have her leg amputated and remains in a stable condition.
