RAMALLAH, (PIC)– Seven Palestinian youths including three girls and one journalist were severely beaten by security forces from the Palestinian authority on Saturday afternoon in a protest against Mahmoud Abbas’s intended meeting with Israeli deputy premier Shaul Mofaz.
The youth march was intercepted by PA security forces as it was trying to reach the PA headquarters in Ramallah city.
Among the injured was journalist Mohamed Jaradat who was transferred to hospital after his exposure to physical attack by officers from the criminal investigation bureau.
A reporter for the Palestinian information center (PIC) said more than one thousand young men chanting marched in the evening towards the downtown police center to demand the release of their friends who were arrested earlier during the march.
