Gun ownership was extremely important to our Founding Fathers. Not
only did they include it in the Bill of Rights, but some of them like
Thomas Jefferson often wrote about it. In fact, Jefferson believed that
it was more than a right to own firearms, he insisted that it was a

When drafting the Virginia State Constitution in 1776, Jefferson wrote,

“No freeman shall be debarred the use of arms.”

In an 1808 letter to Jacob Brown, Jefferson wrote,

“I learn with great concern that [one] portion of our frontier so
interesting, so important, and so exposed, should be so entirely
unprovided with common fire-arms. I did not suppose any part of the
United States so destitute of what is considered as among the first
necessaries of a farm-house.”

In an 1824 letter to John Cartwright Jefferson wrote,

“The constitutions of most of our States assert that all power is
inherent in the people; that… it is their right and duty to be at all
times armed.”

But in today’s liberal America, a number of politicians want to strip
Americans of the Second Amendment right and duty to bear arms.
Historically, this has only served one purpose and that was to allow a
hostile or militant power to take control of a nation such as what
happened in Germany with Adolf Hitler.

I don’t know about you, but this is a very important campaign issue
along with the economy, jobs, immigration and national security. So
where do Barack Obama and Mitt Romney stand on gun ownership and gun
control?

Barack Obama has a long history of being anti-gun, an anti-gun owner and anti-Second Amendment.

As you can see, Obama would like nothing better than to come into
every one of your homes and remove all of your handguns, rifles,
shotguns, etc. His heart’s desire is to see American’s left completely
defenseless.

So where does Mitt Romney stand on gun ownership and gun control? On
September 21, 2007, Romney addressed the National Rifle Association via
video. Here is his address to them…

However, previous to this, Romney supported Massachusetts’s strict
gun control laws when running for governor. He also signed a law
banning semi-automatic guns claiming that they are not made for
recreation or self-defense.

Guess he’s never done much hunting as I
know a many a hunter out west that use semi-automatic 30.06 rifles to
hunt deer, elk, bear, mountain and other big game.

Romney has also spoken out in favor the five day waiting period as prescribed by the Brady laws.

So where does Mitt Romney really stand on gun control? To be honest,
I’m not sure which side of the street he’s on, but I do know for
certain that Barack Obama is on the wrong side of the street and if it
comes down between the two, Obama is NOT my choice.
