64.4%, 87.9% of Egyptians not to vote for NDP, Brotherhood, resp.: poll

TCP : A total of 64.4 percent of Egyptians will not vote for members of the dissolved National Democratic Party (NDP) while 87.9 percent will not vote for the members of the Muslim Brotherhood, according to poll released Monday by the National Center for Social and Criminological Research (NCSCR.)

“Amid the unprecedented developments Egypt is witnessing after two revolutions, we launched a survey asking people two main questions: Would you vote for the Muslim Brotherhood? Would you vote for the NDP?” the center said in a statement.

The poll showed that the breakdown of the 64.4 percent who answered “no” to the NDP was as follows: 47.1 percent said the NDP is corrupt, 32.7 percent expressed their interest in seeing “new faces” and 32.2 percent refused “returning to former President Hosni Mubarak’s era.”

morsimaniaA total of 19.9 answered “yes” to the NDP; 64 percent believe that not all NDP members were corrupt, 32.2 percent view them as “efficient,” 10.5 percent said they are experienced parliamentarians, while 5.4 percent said they had no other option than them.

The remaining 16 percent asked about the NDP did not determine an answer.

The poll also showed that 87.9 percent of those who said they would not vote for the Brotherhood;  9.7 percent of whom said we do not provide an answer as to why, and the remaining 1.4 percent said that they would not vote for someone affiliated with the Islamist group.

The NCSCR said that the poll was conducted between Feb. 18 and March, 1 2015 in 14 different governorates.
