Awake Goy Beijing is ready to strengthen its strategic cooperation with Tehran and to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation in a wide range of spheres, Chinese President Xi Jinping said Thursday.
BEIJING (Sputnik) — Xi is visiting Iran, Saudi Arabia and Egypt between January 19 and 23 to meet the leadership of these countries and to discuss economic and political cooperation.
“After reaching a comprehensive agreement on Iranian nuclear program and the start of its implementation, China is ready to strengthen strategic cooperation with Iran and to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation to do everything possible for our joint development and prosperity,” Xi said, as quoted by Chinese Foreign Ministry.
Xi added that China would like to enhance its cooperation with Iran in a wide range of issues, including the construction of roads and railways as well as in the field of telecommunications.
Xi’s visit is expected to be the first visit of a Chinese leader to Iran in 14 years.
