With its hot springs, parks and elegant crescents of honey-coloured stone, Bath is renowned as being Britain’s most genteel spa town.
But judging by the latest security measures, it has now become a magnet for yobs.
On Friday night, a 7ft-high airport-style scanner greeted passengers arriving at the railway station – to root out anyone carrying knives or drugs.
More than 20 police officers with sniffer dogs also stood guard on platforms and at ticket barriers as part of Operation Shield.
It was piloted in 2006 across rail and Tube stations in inner-city London to curb the rise of violent knife crime and was later extended to Birmingham, Manchester, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Cardiff.

I agree … they should be used sparingly, to add a little variety … often I’ll use the three dots to sparate sentences of prases, or I’ll use 3 exclamation or question marks, to put emphasis in making a point. It seems to work for me.
THE U.K. COULD HAVE SAVED A LOT OF LIVES AND ENERGY AND TIME BY JUST….AGREEING TO PARTNER UP WITH HITLER WHEN HE OFFERED THEM THAT DEAL.
